Quick Almond Croissants
Indulgence at Its Best
Say goodbye to your diet with the best almond croissants you'll ever have! These quick and easy croissants, made with store-bought pastries and a delectable almond filling, are perfect for a luxurious breakfast or an indulgent snack.
Ingredients
- 4 large store-bought croissants
- Icing sugar for dusting
Filling
- 80g butter
- 60g icing sugar
- 1 egg
- 80g ground almonds or almond meal
- 30ml cake flour
- 2.5ml almond essence
- Seeds from 1 vanilla pod
- 30g flaked almonds
- 20g chopped almonds
Method
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 180°C.
- Prepare the Filling: Cream together the butter and icing sugar, then beat in the egg. Add the ground almonds, cake flour, almond essence, and vanilla seeds to make a smooth almond paste.
- Assemble the Croissants: Gently cut the croissants in half and spread some of the almond filling inside each one. Place the croissants on a baking tray and spread additional filling on top.
- Add Almonds and Bake: Sprinkle with flaked and chopped almonds. Bake for about 15 minutes or until the croissants are golden brown.
- Serve: Dust with icing sugar and serve immediately.
